Wax Tailor, one of my favorite socially-conscious DJs. He hails from France and has a knack for producing incredible and moving downtempo trip-hop/hip-hop tracks. In this one (“How I Feel”), he samples the great Nina Simone.
If you know soul, you know how “the rest of the best” in the music industry feel about Nina; like Lauryn Hill sang “So while you’re imitating Al Capone / I’ll be Nina Simone / And defacating on your microphone!”
